Saltash, Thrapston and Walsall Women go top in Regional Leagues

Saltash United, Thrapston Town and Walsall FC Women took over at the top of their Regional League First Divisions.

EASTERN – Plate progress on pens for Billericay

Premier – St.Albans City got out of the drop zone with a fine 2-1 win over second-placed Haringey Borough, who were overtaken by Royston Town following their 3-1 victory at AFC Dunstable, who consequently slip into the bottom two.

1 South – Lawford are up to third after seeing off Hertford Town by the odd goal in seven.

League Cup 3rd Rd – Wroxham’s Tigi Robson scored the sole goal at Mulbarton Wanderers, Stevenage’s Kelsey Millen bagged a brace in a 3-1 win at Bowers & Pitsea. Real Bedford overcame Watford Ladies Development 11-2 with four from half-time sub Natasha Fensome and three by Francesca Partridge. Luton Town had a walkover against Grays Athletic.

League Plate 2nd Rd – Billericay Town Devs went through 4-2 on penalties following a 2-2 deadlock at Wootton Blue Cross, Barking were 4-1 winners after extra-time at Newmarket Town, Fakenham Town edged Kings Lynn Town 3-2 aided by a couple from Chloe Gravett. Other results were; Histon 0-3 Cheshunt,  Hutton 1-2 Wormley Rovers, Stanway Pegasus 2-5 Stevenage Devs, Thetford Town 0-3 Biggleswade United, Southend United 2-4 Wodson Park.

EAST MIDLANDS – Eight straight wins for Lincoln United

Premier – Lincoln United made it eight wins from eight with a 4-1 result at Anstey Nomads, there three nearest title rivals also registering victories. Ilkeston Town thrashed Long Eaton United 8-0 with half the goals by Jade Eaglefield, Mansfield Town just got the better of Basford United with a Eve Shaw effort, while Rotherham United were 3-0 winners at Dunton & Broughton United.

1 Central – Leaders Arnold Eagles saw off Loughborough Foxes Vixens 2-1 with a Natasha Leach brace, Notts County Devs went second when winning a goalfest 7-4 against Beaumont Park. Asfordby Amateurs beat Sherwood 2-0, West Bridgford were similarly victorious against Sandiacre Town.

1 North – SJR Worksop missed a chance to go top when held 1-1 at Sleaford Town, Dronfield Town overtook Oughtibridge WM by beating them 2-0 to go second, Retford’s first win came 2-0 over Lincoln United Devs.

1 South – Thrapston Town took over at the top after a 2-0 defeat of Cardea, Northampton Town Devs losing the leadership having gone down to a Kettering Town goal scored by Abbie Brewin. Leicester City LFC beat Newport Pagnell Town 2-1, New Bradwell St Peter sank Nuneaton Borough 7-3 helped by a Megan Smart hat-trick.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Super-sub grabs winner for Darts

Premier – Fulham remained first with a 3-1 win at Sutton United, Dulwich Hamlet kept up the pressure winning 2-o in front of 173 at Ebbsfleet United, Dartford also continue to push the leaders after substitute Xayla-Rae Alberts got the only goal at Enfield Town, who drop into the bottom two due to Alex Witham’s goal for Aylesford at Crawley AFC. Saltdean United defeated Dorking Wanderers with a Caitlin Sullivan effort to leapfrog them into fifth, Millwall Lionesses came away from Ashford United 2-1 victors.

1 North – Dulwich Hamlet Reserves held onto the leadership with an Abigail Woollvin goal at Denham United, Sport London e Benfica remained very well positioned with a 6-1 success at Ashmount Leigh. Brentford matched that scoreline with four Chloe Logie goals at Actonians Reserves, Whyteleafe were 1-0 winners over Clapton Richmond Park beat Camden & Islington United 4-2 aided by a couple from Alina Kerl.

1 South – Runaway leaders Newhaven needed a Katie Franks double to win 3-2 at second-placed Dartford Reserves, Herne Bay edged Bognor Regis Town 4-3 with Elena Brock bagging a brace. Hastings United sub Jessica Wright got the winner in a 2-1 result at Hassocks, Bexhill United held Bromley 1-1, Eastbourne United and Welling United drew 2-2 and Montpelier Villa sank Steyning Town 4-0.

NORTH EAST – Harrogate, Spennymoor and Wallsend win with late doubles

Premier – Barnsley FC beat South Shields with a Victoria Chincharo effort to stay top, second-placed Sunderland West End saw off Wakefield AFC 2-1, Wallsend BC beat Hartlepool United by the same score but only thanks to Michaela Sewell dramatic double in the last five minutes. Harrogate Town’s first win was another 2-1 and came about due to late goals by Kate Whiley and Tallulah Freeman at Hull United. Spennymoor Town subs Rebecca Drinkald and Lily-Mae Jackson were on target to force a 3-2 victory at Alnwick Town.

1 North – Sunderland U-23s’ ninth win in a row came with ten goals at Bishop Auckland, third drew with second as Wallsend BC Reserves versus Consett ended two apiece. Chester le Street United are back in credit after sub Francesca Lambert’s double in last 16 minutes brought a 2-2 tie at Hartlepool Pools Youth. Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves were 1-0 winners over Thornaby, Ponteland United defeated Gateshead 4-0 led by a Sophie Curle hat-trick.

1 South – Millmoor’s 10-0 scoreline against Ripon City saw Alesha Gale get four and three by Abby Watkinson but York Railway Institute won 2-1 at Lower Hopton to keep the leaders well in their sights. York City Devs’ Ruby Watt netted three of their six at Sheffield United Foundation, a treble too for Chesterfield FC Women’s Chloe Foster as they won 5-1 at Farsley Celtic JFC Ladies, while Altofts beat Handsworth with Emma Dobson’s breakthrough eight minutes from time.

NORTH WEST – Bury deny second-placed Blackburn 

Premier – Cheadle Town Stingers lead by nine points after their 3-0 defeat of Fleetwood Town Wrens, Murron Alldread’s 85th-minute equaliser saw Bury hold second-placed Blackburn CSC 2-2. West Didsbury & Chorlton beat Crewe Alexandra with a Catherine Thompson goal watched by 141, Darwen were 4-0 winners at Curzon Ashton.

1 North – Mancunian Unity made it 13 wins on the trot with a 6-1 result at Carlisle United. Penrith’s 5-1 result at Penwortham Town put them second on goal-difference above Accrington Stanley, who won 3-1 against Workington Reds. Morecambe’s Yasmine Swarbrick scored twice in a fine 3-2 win at Radcliffe, Haslingden also beat a better-placed team 3-2 in Preston North End.

1 South – Runcorn Linnets won 4-1 at Northwich Vixens, Chester at Mossley Hill Athletic by the same score. FC St. Helens sent Altrincham to a 7-1 home loss, Poulton Vics got the only goal at Ellesmere Port Town, Hindley’s Kate Kerr struck a last-minute winner for a 2-1 result at Litherland REMYCA.

SOUTHERN – Three cup ties go to shoot-outs

1 North – Kidlington’s 4-0 win at Eversley & California saw them climb to third, Milton United overcame Ascot United Reserves 6-1.

1 South –  Woking went fourth on goal-difference, having thrashed Rushmoor 11-2.

League Cup 2nd Rd – Three ties went to penalties, as Ascot United beat Warminster Town 5-4 after scores were deadlocked at 4-4, Wycombe Wanderers won eliminated Eastleigh 4-3 following a 1-1 tie, which was also how Havant & Waterlooville and Penn & Tylers Green ended before the former won the shoot-out 4-1. AFC Stoneham sub Chloe Marshall got three of their five goals at Beaconsfield Town, Woodley United won 2-0 against Oxford City whose Emily Harris was sent off. AFC Portchester netted nine past Abbey Rangers, Bournemouth Sports ran riot at Caversham United where Emma Davis got four and Chloe Ashton three among their 17-0 scoreline.

SOUTH WEST – 16-year-old debutant nets Saltash winner

Premier – The top four all won, lead by Bristol Rovers’ 4-1 result at Bishops Lydeard. Marine Academy Plymouth won 3-1 at AFC St Austell, Forest Green Rovers scored five at Liskeard Athletic, while Sherborne Town were 2-0 winners over Frampton Rangers.

1 East – Poole Town extended their lead with all four goals at Shaftesbury, third-placed Stockwood Wanderers pegged Bath City back at 2-2 to stay above them. Frome Town’s Martha Peet got the one goal at Purton, Weymouth scored five at Ridgeway.

1 North – AEK Boco won 5-2 at SGS Olveston United, while the bottom two both won; Bristol Rovers Devs 2-0 at Downend Flyers, Mangotsfield United 3-2 against Bitton.

1 West – Saltash United are first after sub Millie Everson got the goal to defeat Feniton, Helston Athletic’s 2-0 result at Middlezoy lifted them to second. Sticker stung Bideford 10-1, with Tori Marks enjoying a five-goal haul.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lichfield City shock Harriers

Premier – Leaders Worcester City won 3-0 against third-placed Burton Albion in front of 150 fans, second-placed Lye Town hit six at Solihull Sporting. Shrewsbury Town sent Coventry Sphinx to a 4-0 reverse, Lichfield City achieved a 4-2 victory at Kidderminster Harriers where their Tilly Astell and Shelbie Cartwright each bagged a second-half brace. Crusaders were denied a first win as Coundon Court’s Olivia Brown made it 2-2 to complete her brace, Shifnal Town knocked four past hosts Knowle.

1 North – Walsall FC went top courtesy of Mia Fellows’ early goal at Coventrians, Newcastle Town defeated Darlaston Town 4-0 away to go second. AFC Telford United dropped two places to third, after having Abby White shown to late yellow cards in a 3-2 loss at Port Vale. Leek Town Reserves subs Hattie Herrity and Chelsea Austin both scored in a 4-2 win at their Lichfield City counterparts, Coventry City crushed Tamworth 9-2 with hat-tricks from Keleigh Marshall-Welch and Sophie Woodhead.

1 South – Long Itchington extended their advantage at the top with a 3-0 victory at Droitwich Spa, Leamington Lions’ Naomi Morgan got a double to help see off Rugby Town 3-2. Hereford Pegasus subs Roxana Dinescu and Emily Lewis netted twice and once respectively in a 4-3 win at Redditch United, Alvechurch banged in four at Bewdley Town, while Worcester City Devs overcame Sedgley & Gornal United 5-1.
