Sunday’s Scottish League highlights had Rutherglen’s skipper netting all their five goals after the break, Raith playing in front of over 200 fans at Stark’s Park, plus Hearts Development getting off the mark at the fourteenth attempt.
Central Girls FA Wasps thrashed Dee Ladies 11-2 away to remain four points clear at the top of SWFL Division 1 North. Second-placed Dundee United also had a big win on the road, 7-2 at Granite City where Stacey McFadyen got a hat-trick. Stirling University Development leapfrogged Aberdeen U-23 into sixth when defeating them 3-1 on their own turf.
Clare Docherty and Laura Lyttle got the goals as FC Kilmarnock’s 2-0 win at fourth-placed Renfrew sent them 13 points ahead of the rest in Division 1 South. Hibs Development in second lost out 4-1 at their Rangers counterparts. Queens Park cut the gap on Westerlands by beating them 5-1. Hearts Development got off the mark at the fourteenth attempt with a 3-1 victory against Boroughmuir Thistle.
In Division 2 North, Deveronvale moved a dozen points clear when getting the better of Stonehaven by four goals to three. Moray caused a shock by hitting second in the table Buchan Youth 6-2, while Turriff United put ten past Buckie.
Morton are now 8 points in front in Division 2 West with their 6-0 defeat of United Glasgow. Rutherglen edged a nine-goal thriller at Queen of the South, with an incredible performance from captain Aleisha Gallacher, who got all five goals in the second half. Ayr United were 3-1 winners at Kilmarnock U-23s, while Bishopton beat Stranraer 10-1.
Blackburn United’s 5-0 result over Linlithgow Rose has them still 3 points clear of Airdrie in the Division 2 Central title race, with the latter netting eight times past Hawick. Glasgow Girls Development missed the chance to close in on Hamilton Academical Development in third when losing to them 2-1. Murieston United took the points at Stenhousemuir by two goals to one and Motherwell Development posted the same scoreline over Cumbernauld Colts Development.
Division 2 East leaders Bayside banged in 11 goals at Edinburgh South, second-placed Raith Rovers had a more modest 4-0 winning margin over Forfar Farmington in front of over 200 at Stark’s Park. Dundee City were 3-1 victors at Montrose and Hutchison Vale Development finished 1-1 with East Fife Violet.
