Leicester City Women 0-4 Blackburn Rovers

Leicester City’s impressive run of 31 home games unbeaten was brought to an end as Blackburn ran out 4-0 winners. The result sees unbeaten Rovers return to the top of the Northern Division, overtaking Middlesbrough on goal-difference, over whom they still have four games in hand.

Lynda Shepherd opened the scoring from a 30th-minute penalty in off the bar and Saffron Jordan headed in the second on half time from an Ella Toone cross.

Leicester hit the post soon after the restart but the game was over as a contest midway through the second half, as Jordan scored twice in a five-minute spell to complete her hat-trick.

It was also an afternoon of note for keeper Danielle Hill, who broke the record for most Rovers’ clean sheets in the league.

Newcastle United 1-5 Bradford City

Bradford City jump two places two third after a 5-1 victory at Newcastle United, who remain four points adrift at the bottom.

Jessica Graham gave the Bantams a first-minute advantage which the Magpies cancelled out just after the half-hour through Nicole Dack’s effort from distance, only for Charlotte Stuart to restore the lead also from outside the box shortly before the break.

Graham made it 3-1 on 56 minutes with her second, Stuart then followed suit, before notching her treble from the spot.

Long Eaton United 5-1 Loughborough Foxes

Midlands Division 1 leaders Loughborough Foxes were sent crashing to only their second defeat of the season, Long Eaton United thrashing them 5-1 to go fifth in the table.

A Precious Hamilton spot-kick put United ahead and although the table-toppers levelled, a Cara Newton brace had the home side 3-1 up by the interval.

Hamilton later strengthened Long Eaton’s position with their fourth goal before Newton got her third.

Leicester City Ladies 1-6 Rotherham United

Rotherham are up to eighth in the Midlands, as they hit next to bottom Leicester City Ladies for six, despite there being only a single goal in it at the halfway point.

Bradie Wild’s cross forced an own-goal in the 5th minute but it was Natalie Shaw’s three-goal burst in 10 second-half minutes that sealed the points.

Wild then hit a quick double before City grabbed a late consolation.

Blackpool Wren Rovers 1-5 Leeds

Leeds began the day level on points with hosts Blackpool Wren Rovers but posted a 5-1 scoreline to move up two places to fourth in Northern Division 1.

Blackpool did score first but Veatriki Sarri turned the game around for the visitors with two goals.

Arianne Parnham made it 3-1 and then Helen Wagstaff fired home from long range, with Sarri then sealing har hat-trick.

Tranmere Rovers 0-4 Mossley Hill

The basement battle at Tranmere ended up in only a second win of the campaign for Mossley Hill, who climbed off the foot of the table by virtue of a better goal-difference than Rovers.
