Rossvale lifted the SWF Championship & League One Cup after a close-fought final against Dryburgh Athletic, Glenrothes Strollers won the SWFL Cup.

Dryburgh’s resolute defence managed to keep Rossvale’s well-known attacking threats quiet for 104 minutes, before defender Jane O’Toole nodded the ball into net in extra time to claim SWF’s most senior cup for the Glasgow side.

Next Sunday they head to Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a fantastic chance to claim the double, as nearest rivals Ayr United need to score into double figures to catch them.

Speaking after the game, manager Julie McSherry urged her side not to assume the title is won yet and get it done. “We’ll be taking nothing for granted.” she said.

Earlier at the same venue, Glenrothes Strollers edged out McDermid Ladies 2-1 to win the SWFL Cup in a tense but entertaining all-Fife final, with goals from Kerri Dinnel and Kerry Forsyth.

McDermid had been awarded a free kick on the edge of the box to give them a last-minute opportunity to take the tie to extra time, but Strollers held on for a 2-1 win in front of around 400 spectators.
