Renee Slegers is on the verge of a WSL record for Arsenal, as three points this weekend would mark nine home wins in a row for the manger since she took over.
Nine home wins in a row would be a new record for any WSL manager with Slegers overtaking Sonia Bompastor.
Can Renee Slegers make history?
No manager has ever won their first nine WSL home games in a row but that record could be broken this weekend.
Manager | Winning Home Start |
Renee Slegers | 8* |
Sonia Bompastor | 8 |
Jonas Eidevall | 6 |
Rehanne Skinner | 3 |
Dario Vidosic | 2 |
David Parker | 2 |
Joseph Montemurro | 2 |
Lydia Bedford | 2 |
Melissa Phillips | 2 |

Renee Slegers has been a revelation since joining Arsenal in October 2024.
The Dutch coach was appointed as Arsenal’s permanent manager at the beginning of 2025 and has since been nominated for the Women’s Team Coach of the Year.

Five of Slegers’ wins at home have been won to nil, with the club putting four or more goals past their opponents in all eight of Slegers home matches.
Arsenal face London City Lionesses on Saturday afternoon in their WSL opener at the Emirates Stadium.
With a win, Slegers would overtake current Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor as the overall record holder for most consecutive home wins in a row after being hired.
The Gunners are favoured to beat newly-promoted London City Lionesses at a price of 27/100 with betting sites.
Arsenal will now play all of their WSL home games at the Emirates Stadium from this season onwards.
Who have Arsenal signed this summer?
Arsenal have been busy in the transfer window this summer and they could now finally challenge for the WSL.
Slegers added Olivia Smith to Arsenal’s ranks, with the Canadian becoming the world’s first ever £1million women’s transfer.
Chloe Kelly has also joined the Gunners on a permanent deal after spending the second half of last season on loan in North London.
After finishing 12 points adrift of Chelsea in the WSL last season, Arsenal will be hoping that their new marquee transfers can help them finally overthrow the Blues.
