Regional Leagues: Eight-player Alphington go top

Alphington, Accrington Sports and New London Lionesses all went top of their respective Regional League divisions, the former finishing with only eight players.

EASTERN – Millwall net eighteen

PREMIER – Wroxham held first place with a 4-1 win at Bowers & Pitsea where Grace Birchall scored three times. Second-placed Harlow Town were 9-1 winners over St Ives Town, Bedford had a similae result at home to Haringey Borough as substitute Amy Magnus hit a hat-trick, while Colney Heath drew 1-1 with Luton Town and Wymondham Town defeated AFC Dunstable 5-1.

LEAGUE CUP GROUP STAGE – Newmarket Town edged East Bergholt United 4-3 largely due to a treble from Annabel Cuthbert, Millwall Lionesses put 18 past Lawford. Other scores were; Cambridge City Development 7-0 AFC Sudbury, Histon 1-5 Hutton, Leigh Ramblers 0-2 Kings Lynn Town, Bishops Stortford A/W Stevenage Development.

EAST MIDLANDS – Swift treble see Posh beat Cobblers

PREMIER – Natalie Shaw got three for Rotherham United as they defeated Woodlands 5-2 for a fifth straight victory. Three goals in a 13-minute second-half spell saw Peterborough United post a 4-2 win over Northampton Town, while Leicester City LFC got off the mark with a single-goal success at Oughtibridge WM.

1 NORTH – Chesterfield are a point behind third in the table Grimsby Borough whom they sent to a 4-0 defeat.

LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND – Oadby & Wigston’s 7-0 sinking of Cleethorpes Town included a Samantha Hargrave treble, elsewhere it ended Ollerton Town 4-0 Kettering Town and Lutterworth Athletic 8-0 Lincoln Moorlands-Railway.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Injuries end two games

PREMIER – Dulwich Hamlet had a record crowd of 312 for their match with Eastbourne Town, which they led 2-0 when it was abandoned with a few minutes to go because of an injury.

LEAGUE CUP GROUP STAGE – Whyteleafe versus Saltdean United was another game ended early due to injury, a Chloe Sampson double saw QPR Girls Development beat Fulham 2-1, while Denham United and Ashford Town (Middlesex) drew 1-1.

GREATER LONDON – New London Lionesses went top with an 8-1 victory over Victoire, Leyton Orient Development slipped to second when being held 1-1 at home by Clapham United and Sutton United had a fine 4-1 result against Hackney.

SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Worthing jumped up four places into second with all eight goals at Newhaven, three of which were scored by substitute Sophie Humphrey.

LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND – There were 4-1 scores for Lewes Foundation over Margate, Herne Bay at Long Lane and Phoenix Spoirts at Lancing, while Mole Valley went one better at Crawley Wasps DS.

NORTH EAST – Six in a row for Sunderland West End

PREMIER – Harrogate Town gained ground on leaders Wallsend BC when returning from York City as 3-1 victors.

1 NORTH – Sunderland West End extended their lead to eight points after sending Boro Rangers to a 5-0 defeat in the meeting of the top two.

NORTH WEST – Eight-goal Accrington go top

PREMIER – FC United of Manchester are second after a 3-0 win at Mossley Hill, Crewe Alexandra came through 4-2 at Sir Tom Finney, Fleetwood Town took the points 2-1 at Morecambe and Merseyrail got a good first point when holding Manchester Stingers 1-1.

1 NORTH – Accrington Sports stormed to the top with an 8-0 defeat of Preston North End, while Penrith were losing 1-0 at home to Blackburn CSC. Workington Reds’ Hayley Bracken hit a first-half hat-trick as they went third with a 4-1 result against Morecambe Reserves and elsewhere Leigh RMI beat Carlisle United 4-1.

1 SOUTH – Salford City Lionesses opened up a four-point lead with a 6-2 scoreline at home to Chester and Didsbury leapfrogged Liverpool Feds Reserves into sixth after sending them to a 6-1 home defeat.

SOUTHERN – Abingdon United win on penalties

PREMIER – Ascot United secured their first points but had to score a good few goals to do so, winning a goal-fest with Woodley United 6-4.

ONE – Abingdon Town are up to third after scoring both the goals in the match at Bournemouth Sports.

LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND – Abingdon United edged Wycombe Wanderers 4-2 on penalties after being deadlocked at 1-1, Moneyfields went through 5-1 at Southampton Women’s Reserves as did Winchester City Flyers against Warsash Wasps, Oxford City ran in 11 goals at Tilehurst Panthers.

PREMIER – Bideford went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat at second-placed Wootton Bassett Town, Bishops Lydeard’s Amber Guy-Kemp scored half their 10 goals at Torquay United and Middlezoy just got the etter of Ilminster Town 2-1.

1 EASTERN – Swindon Town Development have a 100% record from three games after sending Laverstock & Ford home beaten 6-2.

1 NORTHERN – Oldland Abbotonians won 5-1 at Weston Super Mare to climb to second, aided by Cheltenham Town Development’s 3-0 reverse at Bristol Ladies Union.

1 WESTERN – Alphington went top by battling to a 1-1 draw at Bude Town, despite only travelling with nine players and going down to eight.

PAT SOWDEN CUP 1ST ROUND – Sherborne Town won 2-1 at Frome Town with Jemma Tewkesbury twice on target.

WEST MIDLANDS – Redditch open up six-point lead

PREMIER – Redditch United have a six-point advantage at the top after seeing off Coventry Sphinx 5-3. Hayley Wilford’s treble helped Solihull Ladies United edge Coundon Court 4-3, for whom Claudia Latchford’s hat-trick was all in vain. Other scores; Sutton Coldfield Town 1-0 Stockingford A A Pavilion, Kidsgrove Athletic 2-3 Crusaders,  Knowle 0-5 Worcester City.

1 NORTH – AFC Telford United are two points off leaders Wyrley following a 2-1 result over Stoke City Development, Shrewsbury Town are third having hit three second-half goals to come away from Port Vale 4-1 winners.

1 SOUTH – Cookley Sports’ 5-0 win over Rugby Town lifted them to second, Coventry City’s Grace Tebbutt got both goals in a 2-1 win that saw them leapfrog visitors Leamington Lions into sixth, Droitwich Spa also climbed above their opponents in going fourth with a 3-1 result at home to Kingfisher.
