Rebecca ‘Becca’ Egerstrom, 14

2. What do your team mates call you on the footie field?
Bec, Begastrom or Keeps/Keeper

3. Who do you play for and which team do you support?
Vale Girls Football Team and FC Barcelona

4. Are you left or right footed?
Right footed

5. What is your fave position and why?
Goalkeeper because you get to shout at everyone and roll around on the floor a lot!

6. If you could meet a player (male or female) who would it be?
Lionel Messi

7. If you could play on the same team as anyone who would it be?
Diego Maradona if he still played, otherwise David Villa

8. What colour shirt would you most like to play in?
Neon orange

9. Can you describe yourself as a footballer, in three to five words?
Fearless, determined, loud and positive-thinker

10. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you in football?
In training we were having a match against each other and it was pouring down with rain. I put the ball on the ground and did a massive run-up in hope the ball would go really far. Instead, I missed the ball and went flying face first into the grass! I was so muddy and all the girls were laughing!

11. Do you have you any superstitions?
Not really, but I believe karma comes back around

12. What is your favourite pre-match or post-match music?
Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen and Domino by Jessie J

13. What is your favourite post match treat?
A bottle of Cherry Lucozade always goes down nicely

14. Who is your biggest fan?
When I met Olly Murs and I told him I played football, he told me he was impressed! I’ve got a celebrity fan, can’t get much better than that!

15. Who are your heroes?
In football, Messi – he’s such a determined player and works hard to achieve the things he does. Aside from football, Spiderman is a brilliant hero.

16. What is the most common thing you shout in a match?
Clear it! Quick, get it away! No, I don’t want it, kick it away!

17. What advice would you give to someone who has been called up into an international squad for a camp/game for the first time?
Be confident, don’t doubt your ability and make sure you give it your all. Most importantly, enjoy the experience!
