The first ever winner of the Scottish Building Society SWPL Player of the Month is Rachel Donaldson of Stirling University, who won the September award through a public vote after being nominated by club managers.

Speaking to womenspremierleague.co.uk after receiving her award, Donaldson said: “I’m honoured to have won this. There were really impressive performances in both divisions, so it means a lot to have been voted as the best player for the month.”

Donaldson’s performances for Stirling have helped the student side reach fourth place in SWPL 1.

Also nominated for the September award was Jade Lindsay (Hamilton Academical), Nichola Sturrock (Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale), and Corrie McIlravey Davidson (Jeanfield Swifts).

Details of the players nominated for the October award will be available soon at www.scottishbs.co.uk.”
