Four players have departed Birmingham City at the end of their contracts, following relegation from the Barclays Women’s Super League.

The quartet now looking for new clubs are Emily Whelan, Lucy Whipp, Sarah Ewens and Cecilie Sandvej.

Whelan made 25 appearances after joining from Shelbourne last summer, Whipp ends a three-year spell with the Blues in which she played 60 times.

Ewens arrived from Celtic for an undisclosed fee and made 15 appearances, Sandvej played just the six times.

Birmingham City they say remain ‘in discussions with a number of First Team players regarding new contracts.’
