Northern newcomers Middlesbrough stay top after a 2-0 win at Bradford, where Bianca Owens and Ellie Dobson scored. Fylde sent defending champions West Brom to consecutive defeats, an Emma Hollingsworth own-goal adding to Danielle Young;s opener. Derby are third after winning the East Midlands clash at Nottingham Forest. Leicester’s first points at this level came with an impressive 5-3 scoreline over Stoke in which Lauren Impley claimed a hat-trick. Blackburn fought back to earn a 3-3 draw at Huddersfield. Isabelle Thomas, Kate Mallin and Katie Nutter netted for the Terriers, Saffrom Jordon bagged a brace for Rovers and Faye McCoy their other.

Charlton still lead the Southern after hitting C&K Basildon for six, Gemma Shepherd contributing a treble. Lewes sit second after drawing 1-1 with Cardiff, Katie McIntyre cancelling out Kerry Barltett’s goal for City. Crystal Palace are goal-difference behind having banked their first points with the only goal from Leanne Bell at QPR. Spurs opened their campaign by seeing off Swindon 4-1. Michelle Rich did reply to Bianca Baptiste’s effort but Wendy Martin scored either side of Nikita Whinnett for Tottenham. Portsmouth got off the mark by sending West Ham to a 3-1 loss. Sarah Kempson got a couple and Emma Sherwood one before Chloe Burr pulled one back.

Loighborough Foxes ran out 7-1 winners at Solihull to top the Midlands Division 1, Audrey Moore getting four goals. Radcliffe Olympic are the other side with two straight wins after beating TNS 4-0.  Wolves got underway by coming from two down to win 3-2 at Rotherham, Jenni Anslow got the winner after a Jade Cross brace. Long Eaton’s home debut in the league ended in a 2-1 reverse by an own-goal against Birmingham & West Midlands. Steel City took the points 3-1 at Leicester Ladies.

Morecambe top Northern Division 1 as one of three sides on 6 points, following their 5-1 result against Crewe. Chorley were 2-1 winners at Chester-le-Street and Guiseley 2-0 victors at Hull. Brighouse shared six goals with Liverpool Feds to register their first FAWPL point, Jodie Redgrave accounting for all their goals. Elsewhere, Blackpool Wren Rovers and Tranmere played out a goalless draw.

All but a couple of teams have already dropped points in the South East and Gillingham are in pole position after a 3-1 win over MK Dons. Enfield and Luton are also unbeaten, following a draw at Ipswich and win at Actonians respectively, where Michelle Byrne scored. Cambridge got both their game’s goals against Lowestoft and Denham hit newcomers Stevenage 5-0.

Chichester are in first bplace in the South West, after a 4-1 success at Maidenhead. Basingstoke were on course for a winning league debut but Hannah Haughton saved a penalty and Southampton Saints came from behind to win 4-2. A Sophie Whelan goal past Shanklin was enough for Brislington to register their first win in the league. Keynsham returned from Cheltenham 3-0 winners, Justine Lorton-Radburn with two of them.
