Thursday 16th February
FA PREMIER LEAGUE
NORTHERN DIVISION
Blackburn Rovers v Fylde (Bamber Bridge FC, 7.45)
SOUTH WEST DIVISION 1
Cheltenham Town v Exeter City (Cheltenham Saracens FC, 8pm)
Unbeaten Blackburn are currently six points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough with three games in hand and in a very strong position for the title. Fylde sit in sixth with less than half Rovers’ points tally but an away victory would shoot them up to third spot.
When the two met in October, a crowd of 257 saw Fylde denied a point with 11 minutes left, as Rovers won 2-1.
The leaders will be looking to carry on their form from Sunday, when they hit Middlesbrough 5-1, coach Scott MacNeill saying his players were superb from start to finish.
While Cheltenham are mid-table in the South West with four wins and nine defeats, Exeter are next to bottom having taken just a single point from their eight outings.
Cheltenham had a narrow defeat at Southampton Saints on Sunday, despite levelling twice, while the Grecians lost 6-0 at Brislington but still found positives in what they described as ‘a spirited performance with our squad suffering from numerous injuries and illness.’
