We are four weeks into the 15th season of the Women’s Super League and here SheKicks takes a look at each club in the 2025-26 season and reveal which players have made the most WSL appearances for them.
Arsenal and Chelsea are the only two clubs to have competed in the top flight every season since the inaugural campaign of 2011.
London City Lionesses are the newest edition to the league, playing in the WSL for the first time this season.
Jordan Nobbs topped our list of the 10 players with the most WSL appearances overall before the start of the new campaign.
Here we take a look at which player has made the most appearances for each of the 12 clubs currently in the WSL. This list doesn’t include top-flight appearances before the WSL era, and doesn’t include games in WSL 2.
Which players have made the most WSL appearances for each club?
Arsenal – Kim Little
Starting our list of players with most appearances for every WSL club is Arsenal who have been in the league since its inception in 2011.
The Gunners have a number of experienced players including England stars Leah Williamson and Beth Mead.
However, it is Kim Little who has made the most WSL appearances for the Gunners with 165.
Little surpassed the tally of Williamson in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend.
However, Williamson has been out of action this season after undergoing a minor knee surgery.
Aston Villa – Sarah Mayling
Aston Villa’s record WSL appearance holder is defender Sarah Mayling with 76 outings in the top-flight.
However, she is not far ahead of Rachel Daly (67), who made her 100th appearance in the competition in total against Arsenal.
With Mayling’s appearances slowing down at Villa, there is a small chance that Daly could overtake her by the end of the season.
Brighton – Kayleigh Barton
Brighton have been in the Women’s Super League since 2018, and in that time, their record appearance holder is Kayleigh Barton with 87.
Barton played for Brighton from 2018 to 2023, and retired in 2025 after two years with Charlton.
Maisie Symonds is the closest active Brighton player with 64 appearances. The 22-year-old was named as Brighton captain before the start of the season.

Chelsea – Millie Bright
Millie Bright is rapidly closing in on the overall WSL appearances record after making her 200th outing back in April.
She does hold the record for Chelsea’s appearance record leader in the WSL with 174.
Bright is followed by Erin Cuthbert who has 154 WSL appearances for Chelsea.
Everton – Megan Finnigan
Everton’s record appearance holder is Megan Finnigan who has made 132 outings for the Toffees.
Finnigan has been out of action since January after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
She is followed by Lucy Hope with 97 and Gabby George, now at Manchester United, on 91.
Leicester City – Samantha Tierney
There is just one appearance splitting the top two for WSL appearances with Leicester.
Samantha Tierney (86) has just overtaken Sophie Howard who had 85 appearances for the Foxes in the WSL.
Howard left Leicester during the summer transfer window for Italian side Como, the same team that former Aston Villa star Alisha Lehmann joined.
Liverpool – Gemma Bonner
Liverpool Women captain Gemma Bonner became just the third player in WSL history to make 200 appearances, during their defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.
For the Reds, she has made 133 appearances in total across two spells at the club.
The centre-back was rewarded with a new contract extension during the summer transfer window.
London City Lionesses – Multiple players
The London City Lionesses have multiple players on four appearances, as this is their first WSL season.
Players who have featured in every game for the Lionesses so far include; Maria Perez, Lucia Corrales, Julia Roddar, Sanni Franssi, Nikita Parris, Elene Lete, Jana Fernandez, Saki Kumagai, Kosovare Asllani and Isobel Goodwin.
Manchester City – Steph Houghton
Steph Houghton leads the way for most WSL appearances for Manchester City at 138.
There are other City players who could surpass her record within the next couple of seasons.
Her closest active challenger is Lauren Hemp who has 115 appearances, though her progress has been slowed down by an ankle injury which will keep her out for a couple of weeks.

Manchester United – Ella Toone
Leading the way for Manchester United is Ella Toone, who has been with the club since they were promoted to the WSL in 2019.
The England international has 123 top-flight appearances for United, and at the age of 26 with her level of talent, she could easily surpass the 200 mark if she stays with the Red Devils.
Tottenham – Ashleigh Neville
Ashleigh Neville is Tottenham’s leading appearance holder with 108 outings since Spurs got promoted to the WSL in 2019.
In total, she has made 164 appearances for Spurs since she joined the club when they were in the second-tier back in 2017.

West Ham – Kate Longhurst
Finally, the player with the most appearances for West Ham is Kate Longhurst.
Longhurst made 93 appearances for the Hammers between 2018 and 2023, before retiring earlier this year after spells with Charlton and Nottingham Forest.
