PACHECO FEELING POSITIVE

It’s been a frustrating season for the South Yorkshire side with injuries to key players particularly hampering the Belles’ return to top-flight football.

However, a big positive from the 2016 campaign has arrived in the shape of England youth starlet Pacheco – a full-back secured on loan from Liverpool Ladies back in June.

The 18-year-old has been quick to make an impact in Doncaster – winning several man of the match accolades and scoring her first goal for the club in the 4-1 defeat to Sunderland AFC Ladies during September’s showdown.

Pacheco is under no illusion that the Belles need to get back to winning ways – starting with their crucial home match against Reading AFC Women on 24th September (kick-off 6.30pm, Keepmoat Stadium).

“The mood in the camp is very positive. We know now that we need to graft in the next few games and we all believe we can stay up,” said the Liverpool loan star.

“It’s a derby game by far [against Reading]. We’re going to fight for that win.

“From now on, it’s going to pretty much be a cup final every game for us and I know we’ll put it in to succeed.”

On her first goal for the club, she added: “To score was a proud moment for me but to get the goal for the girls was some time coming.

“Hopefully we can get more goals in other games and I’m really glad I did it for the team.”
