Oxford United have taken midfielder Dan Carlton from newly-promoted Tottenham Hotspur as their first summer signing.
Oxford say that Carlton brings a wealth of experience, having played a key role in Yeovil’s WSL 2 title-winning campaign.
Carlton told oxfordunitedwfc.co.uk: ‘I’m really excited, I haven’t played football for a while now so I’m just buzzing to get into pre-season and get to know all the girls properly and Andy [Cook].
“I want to play as many minutes as possible this year and hopefully get some goals too! I’m looking forward to getting that playing feeling back, getting some points on the board and just getting off to a good start to the season.”
Manager Andy Cook commented: “Dan is a player we have tracked since I started here Oxford. She’s got a track record of playing in successful teams and her qualities on the pitch will not only help us but will bring out the best in the younger players of our squad.
“Having spoken at length with Dan we both know what we need to do to bring success to Oxford. I’m really pleased to get this signing finalised and it’s just the start of things to come for us this season.”
