We are the University of Westminster Women’s Football Team and this coming season will be our fourth year as an official team at the University.
Within this time we have gone from a group of 5-6 girls simply training once a week, to the undefeated champions of the BUCS 2012/13 South Eastern 3A League, competing against Universities such as UAL, ICL, UOS, to name just a fe
w. And our eyes are firmly set on doing the same in the 2013/14 season, as well as winning the Conference Cup.
The team is composed of diverse group of confident and intelligent young women, studying a wide range of subjects from Literature to Bio Medical Science to Media Production and Marketing. However, we all have one thing in common and that is the fact that we all love playing football.
Over the past four years we have seen many great players and people come and go, however it is testament to our family-like environment that we still r
emain friends, even after people graduate. Our team is not only a support network for football, but for whenever a player within the team may require it.
As you can see, the team and I have high hopes for the coming season and therefore are attempting to raise funds and equipment donations to help us achieve our goals.
I am sure everyone can understand that training facilities and travel take a huge amount out of our funding from the University. And with all funding being slashed this year, yet again, we are in desperate need of sponsorship.
We often hold fundraisers on campus, however we try to give at least half of these profits to charities.
