Northern Ireland Women win 11-0 in North Macedonia

Northern Ireland won their latest FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying group game 11-0 away to North Macedonia.

Simone Magill scored four times and Rachel Furness hit a hat-trick as Kenny Shiels’ side moved within three points of second-placed Austria, who are away to England this Saturday.

There were first-half doubles for Magill and Furness, the latter converting a penalty but then missing another. Rebecca McKenna, Lauren Wade and Kirsty McGuinness also contributed to a 7-0 interval lead.

Furness’s third equal David Healy’s goalscoring record of 36 for Northern Ireland, Magill scored twice more before Rebecca Holloway rounded off the scoring.
