Portugal ran out 4-0 winners over Northern Ireland in UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualifying League B Group 3 in Leiria.

Goalkeeper Jackie Burns was Northern Ireland’s player of the match, as Portugal continued their 100% record in the group.

The hosts were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute for Rebecca McKenna’s foul on Lucia Alves, with Carole Costa converting from the spot.

Burns pushed away a dangerous Jessica Silva cross and turned the follow-up drive from Alves over the bar, while Demi Vance made a goal-saving interception.

Portugal doubled their lead four minutes after the restart, Alves lobbing home after a long ball by Andreia Jacinto.

Burns bravely saved at the feet of Kiki Nazareth and kept out a Diana Silva effort with her boot.

Two goals were added late on, Costa’s ball over the top seeing Catarina Amado lofting a shot into the net and Alves getting her second deep into added time.
