Northern Ireland U-19s Finish With Win

Northern Ireland came from behind to defeat Cyprus 2-1 and sign off their UEFA U-19 Championship qualifying by picking up their first points.

Chryso Michael opened the scoring in the 32nd minute from a free-kick, which turned out to be her team’s only effort on target.

Caitlyn Hamilton levelled 6 minutes into the second half, turning in a corner from Abbie Magee.

The game was heading for a draw until Alfie Wylie’s side won an 87th-minute penalty, which Rebecca Bassett converted.

Norway beat Portugal 2-0 in the group decider, after both had earlier booked their place in the Elite Round.
