GROUP A: Slovakia 1-0 Chinese Taipei, Northern Ireland 4-4 Slovenia
GROUP B: France ‘B’ 6-0 Hungary ‘B’, Croatia 0-0 Bosnia & Herzegovina
After their thrashing by Northern Ireland. Chinese Taipei restricted Slovakia to a 1-0 win, with Lucia Harsanyova scoring on 28 minutes. But this was enough to secure Slovakia top spot in Group A.
Northern Ireland netted eight last time out but Slovenia held them to a 4-4 tie that left the Irish second in the table. One up in 3 minutes, Northern Ireland found themselves 3-1 down by the interval. Although stunnng Slovenia with three goals in an eight-minute spell, they were soon pegged back to level terms.
Bosnia & Herzegovina got the point they needed to win Group A in a goalless draw with hosts Croatia. They now meet Slovakia in Wednesday’s final.
France ‘B’ scored at regular intervals as they notched up a 6-0 scoreline over Hungary ‘B’ but had to settle for second spot in the group. Rose Lavaud, Marion Torrent and Valerie Gauvin got goals in the first half, Gauvin later went on to complete a hat-trick and Ouleye Sarr rounded off the scoring. Northern Ireland will be France’s opponents in the 3rd place match.
