North Korea defeated Japan 1-0 at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Final in Colombia, adding to their successes in 2006 and 2016.

It was Japan’s third successive final in the competition but they have now suffered defeat in the last two.

Tournament top-scorer Choe Il-son’s sixth goal came after 15 minutes and proved sufficient for victory in the all-Asian final.
