#NIWFA: Midweek Round-Up

Lisburn Rangers and Camlough Rovers both made it three straight wins in a shortened Electric Ireland NIWFA League season.

Ballymacash Young Ladies got this week’s action underway on Monday with a 1-0 win over Coleraine thanks to a Chloe Glover goal on 70 minutes, although the hosts will have been disappointed not to have won by a greater margin given their control of this one.

Lisburn Rangers made it three from three defeating Carnmoney Athletic 8-2 on Wednesday, although the match was a lot closer than the score line suggested. Eve Reilly hit a hat-trick for Rangers, Anneli Moore got both for Athletic.

Lisburn and Mid Ulster both maintained their 100% records with Lisburn recording a fine 3-0 win at Lurgan Town thanks to two goals from Jennifer Hinds and one from Sara Stevenson, with Mid Ulster defeating Comber Rec 2-1 with a Sharagh Murphy brace, Comber’s reply coming from Amber Dempster.

The final game on Wednesday night saw Larne getting their season underway with an impressive 10-0 victory over Portadown, as Rebecca Boyce, Erin McRandal, Rebecca Cargill and Ellie Houston each on target twice.

Two goals in the last ten minutes from Sasha Birch and Aoife Connor saw Crewe United defeat Belfast Celtic 3-1 on Thursday. Connor had earlier given Crewe the lead, with Amy Burden levelling.

A second-minute strike from Cliodhna Petticrew gave Shamrock the perfect start in their game against Bangor, only for Claire Oakley equalise. However, Petticrew then hit a three-goal blast and Pollyanna Sapsford made it 5-1 before Oakley replied again.

Camlough Rovers won their third game n a row, this time defeating Larne Olympic 2-1, Rovers goals coming from Laura Cinnamond and Adele Harte, Aimee Shiels then pulling one back.
