Foyle Belles beat Larne to go level on points at the top of the Northern Ireland Women’s FA Championship table.
Championship
Foyle Belles became the first team to take points off Larne this season, thanks to a brace by Ellie Redden, which saw them draw level at the top of the table with both Larne and Ballymena United. There was a first win for Ballymacash Rangers who defeated Coleraine 2-0 at the Showgrounds, with strikes from Chloe Glover and Melissa Robinson. Comber Rec also got their first points on the board with a hard fought 3-2 win at Killen Rangers, Lucy Carville netting twice and Heather Kerr their other scorer.
Division 1
Armagh City lost top spot to visitors Belfast Celtic, whose Ursula McCotter scored both goals. Two goals from Erin McCauley and a single strike from Aimee Kerr gained Ballyclare Comrades their first points of the season as they beat Crewe United 3-2. Bangor had a comfortable 6-0 home win over Portadown, with Leah Robinson contributing twice.
Division 2
Kilmore Rec who lead the way as they made it two wins from two games with a comprehensive win over Ballymena United Seconds. Camlough Rovers dropped their first points of the season after losing at Ballyclare Comrades Reserves, who are now within one point of the leadership. St Oliver Plunkett remain unbeaten following a hard fought 2-0 win over Ballynahinch United, while Larne Olympic and Banbridge Town drew 1-1.
Division 3
Ballymoney United recorded a third consecutive victory, this time against Greenisland. Rosario’s win over Antrim Rovers moved them up to second, Ambassadors went third following a fine away win at Shamrock. Banbridge Rangers and Belfast Ravens failed to produce a goal between them in a tight 0-0 draw.
Division 4
Craigavon City and Strabane Athletic both kept up their 100% records with victories over Ballymoney Reserves and Dromara Village respectively. Lisburn Ladies returned to winning ways with a victory at Moneyslane, to rise to third place in the standings.
Division 5 East
Futuro Falcons continue to fly high alongside Lisburn Distillery, both maintaining perfect starts with results over First Bangor and Crewe United Reserves respectively. Elsewhere, Comber Rec Reserves defeated Belfast Ravens.
Division 5 West
It’s Lisbellaw United and Maiden City out in front, the former had a walkover against Raceview, the latter victory over Draperstown Celtic, while Mid Ulster eased home against Antrim Rovers Reserves.
Meanwhile, the draw for the preliminary and first rounds of the PwC Supercup took place this week.
