Scotland were unable to hold onto a half-time lead as they lost 2-1 to the Netherlands in UEFA Women’s Nations League Group A1.

Scotland led at the break, Emma Lawton firing home after a Rachel McLauchlan shot that had been deflected her way off Chasity Grant.

Less than ten minutes after the restart, Lineth Beerensteyn carved her way through the Scottish defence and found the back of the net.

A further ten minutes on and the Dutch had turned the game round, Grant with a close-range finish from Vivienne Miedema’s ball across the six-yard box.

Beerensteyn was denied her second of the night by the crossbar.
