Natasha Dowie: A Liverpool legend

Both Natasha Dowie and Louise Schillgard are Liverpool icons, there is no doubt about that.

Dowie only played four seasons at Liverpool but she is one of the club’s greatest ever strikers.

The 37-year-old spent three years with the Reds between 2012 and 2015. Dowie was the club’s top goalscorer in back to back seasons as Liverpool won two league titles between 2013 and 2014.

In her second year on Merseyside Dowie won the WSL golden boot with 19 goals in 21 league games.

With 45 goals in 66 appearances during her first spell at the club, the striker became a WSL icon.

Dowie returned to Liverpool at the end of her career for one last season on loan.

Louise Schillgard joins Liverpool legends game

Louise Schillgard will join Dowie in the legends game as the second women’s player to be selected.

This will be Schillgard’s first appearance in the legends game, while Dowie plays for a second time.

Schillgard played with Natasha Dowie during Liverpool’s title run in 2013.

The Swedish midfielder netted nine goals in 14 league appearances for Liverpool – including the team’s title winning goal against Bristol City.

Schillgard retired in 2014 at just 24-years-old to focus on her personal life. Despite retiring so young, the Swedish star still goes down as a legend for Liverpool women.
