Middlesex FA Hit Herts For Six

Middlesex struck four second-half goals last night in Letchworth, to run out 6-0 winners over Hertfordshire in a Southern Counties Cup tie.

The visitors opened the scoring after a dozen minutes, as Ashley Cheatley rounded the keeper for a tap-in.

Five minutes later and it was 2-0, Kasha Petit knocking the ball over the head of the home goalkeeper.

Petit might have had another before the break but for the intervention of defender Erin Davies.

There was no further addition to the score until the last quarter of the game, when Lavana Neufville was through on goal and finished well at the near post.

Katie Taylor soon added the visitors’ fourth goal with a well placed header and Mara De Luca made it 5-0 with 20 minutes still to go.

Gemma Coggins came close to a consolation for Herts but in the final 5 minutes, Cheatley grabbed her second and Middlesex’s sixth of the game.
