Can Michelle Agyemang win the first women’s Kopa Trophy?

Although she scored just five goal in 22 appearances with Brighton last season, Michelle Agyemang has asserted herself as one of the best young talents in the world.

It was Agyemang’s summer exploits that have earned her a nomination alongside the best youngsters in Europe.

For the Lionesses at Euro 2025 the 19-year-old really made a name for herself.

Although she was fairly quiet during the group stage, in the knockouts Agyemang burst onto the international scene.

The teenager was thrown in at the deep end by Sarina Wiegman, who called on her youngest player with just 20 minutes to play against Sweden in the quarter-final.

Wiegman was rewarded for her gamble as Agyemang scored an equaliser shortly after coming into the game.

Again in the semi-final England’s future star proved her worth with a last gasp equaliser against Italy keeping the nation’s hopes alive.

Ayemang was named as young player of the tournament as a result of her stellar performances in Switzerland.

What next for Michelle Agyemang?

There is no doubt that after this summer Agyemang is one of the hottest properties in women’s football.

Regardless of where she plays domestic football, the 19-year-old is sure to be in England’s setup for the foreseeable future.

The Lionesses are currently 3/1 favourites to win Euro 2029 with UK Betting sites.

Agyemang may be certain on her international future but domestic football is a whole other story.

With Arsenal breaking the bank to sign Olivia Smith this summer they could lose one of their brightest future stars.

Brighton have reportedly already contacted Agyemang ahead of the new season regarding another move to the south coast after spending last year on loan with the Seagulls.

The WSL campaign gets underway on the September 5th, so expect Agyemang’s situation to be resolved by the end of August when the transfer window closes.
