Michelle Agyemang has provided an update on her ACL injury as the Arsenal star opened up about her ambitions to become the best striker in world football.
Michelle Agyemang injury update
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Arsenal striker Michelle Agyemang revealed that the recovery from her ACL injury is “progressing nicely”.
She said: “It’s going very well. I’m doing very well at Arsenal, they are taking care of me and every day is a building day and I’m progressing very nicely, which is good.”
Agyemang ruptured her ACL on England duty back in October, during the Lionesses’ victory over Australia.
It was a blow for the 20-year-old who was spending her second season on loan at Women’s Super League side Brighton.
Agyemang returned to Arsenal last month to continue her rehabilitation with the Gunners.
Brighton boss Dario Vidosic said at the time: “It was a real privilege to welcome Michelle back in the summer and work with her for another season.
“Naturally, we’re disappointed that her second loan spell with the club has come to an end, but her rehab and mental well-being must remain the priority.”

Arsenal striker Agyemang on future ambitions
Agyemang, who will miss the rest of the current season, has high ambitions for when she returns to football.
The 20-year-old wants to become the best striker in the world, as she praised WSL forwards Alessia Russo and Bunny Shaw.
She said: “The main target is to score goals but I want to be the best striker in the world.
“I’m surrounded by so many talented footballers. You’ve got Alessia Russo, Bunny Shaw, so many great strikers in the league, and I want to be up there with them two.
“Definitely, I want to win everything with Arsenal. Arsenal are my team, I’m an Arsenal fan, so I want to win everything with them.”
Agyemang faces a tough test to start at Arsenal once she returns, with Russo the main striker at the Gunners.
However, she did shine as a super-sub for the Lionesses at the Euros behind Russo, winning the Young Player of the Tournament award.

Hannah Hampton was nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year, which was won by rugby’s Ellie Kildunne.
In 2025, Agyemang was named the Golden Girl by Italian publication Tuttosport. She also won the BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
