Cardiff Met travelled to Rhyl with a 100% Welsh Premier League record but only just rescued a point, Swansea City returned to second place, while Cardiff City FC reached the FAW Cup semis on pens.

After a goalless first half, Rhyl took a shock 2-0 lead over runaway leaders Cardiff Met, thanks to goals from WPWL January Player of the Month Laura Williams and Rebecca Bannister.
Chloe Tiley pulled one back with 15 minutes left and Erin Murray’s effort was judged to have crossed the line, as she equalised in stoppage-time time to preserve the Archers’ unbeaten record.
Rhyl manager Tom Jamieson said: “Our ladies executed the game plan to almost perfection,. To be the only club to take points of them in the WPWL is pleasing.”
Swans rise to second
Cyncoed’s impressive recent run of results brought the January Manager of the Month award for Fern Burrage but could not extend to denying Swansea City victory.
After hitting the bar early on, the Swans eventually went ahead through Katy Hosford’s ninth goal of the season.
City had to clear off their own line from a Cyncoed corner at the end of the first half and although the lead was doubled, it was 8 minutes from time before Kirstie O’Donnell gave them a two-goal cushion from a free kick.
Stacey John-Davies then rounded off the scoring with a lob in the last minute.
Bluebirds through after shoot-out
Cardiff City FC let slip a two-goal interval advantage as Abergavenny fought back to take the tie all the way to penalties, where the Bluebirds eventually won through.
The hosts halved the deficit early in the second half and Kate Jeremiah levelled to force extra-time, which proved fruitless for both sides.
With penalties required, it was Cardiff who profited from the spot, 4-3.
