Mancunian Unity promoted, almost 5,000 watch Brentford Women

Mancunian Unity sealed promotion to the fifth tier, while half of the Regional League Premier Division leaders were defeated.

EASTERN – Southend win clash of top two

Premier – Victoria Campbell got four of Haringey Borough’s six goals against Needham Market, St Albans City edged the relegation ‘six-pointer with AFC Dunstable, Becky Shephard scoring in front of a crowd of 304. Luton Town won 2-0 at Wroxham to close in on the fifth-placed team, Bowers & Pitsea beat Kings Lynn Town 6-1 to send them down.

1 North – Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers’ Isabelle Moore got both goals in their win at Biggleswade United. title-rivals Harpenden Town beat Thetford Town 5-2 aided by Sophia Amanor’s four goals in 30 minutes. Histon are fourth after defeating Fakenham Town 2-0, Mulbarton Wanderers moved into sixth when seeing off Newmarket Town 2-1.

1 South – Southend United won 2-1 away to leaders Watford Ladies Development, whom they now trail by five points. Hertford Town are third after a 2-1 win at Wormley Rovers, Lawford were victorious by the same score at Wodson Park, Stanway Pegasus had a good 3-2 win at Billericay Town Devs despite Lindsey Cowell’s late red card, Hutton edged Cheshunt 3-2 to leapfrog them into sixth spot.

EAST MIDLANDS – Thrapston takeover pole position

Premier – Lincoln United netted nine against Ilkeston Town to maintain an eleven-point lead, Chesterfield Ladies – who hold two games in hand – thrashed Long Eaton United 10-1 with four for Imogen Fowler and three by Ayanna Davidson. Rotherham United heat Basford United 4-0 to go third, Grimsby Town’s 3-1 defeat of Anstey Nomads featured a Danielle Brighton double, while Mansfield Town got all three goals of the game at Dunton & Broughton United.

1 Central – Nottingham Trent University lead by six points after a 12-1 scoreline over Sandiacre Town, in which Amy Copley scored four and Olivia Hembrough three. West Bridgford had a fine 3-0 result against Arnold Eagles, Loughborough Foxes Vixens came from behind to win at Sherwood with a Libby Noble decider, Asfordby Amateurs’s Sarah Brown netted on 90 minutes in a 3-3 tie with Beaumont Park.

1 North – Gainsborough Trinity still lead following a 2-0 victory at Skegness Town but have three title rivals with games in hand. Two of those met as Dronfield Town went down 3-0 at home to Oughtibridge WM, for whom Laura Cain scored twice. Elswehere, it finished Lincoln United Devs 1-4 Grimsby Borough, Sleaford Town 3-1 Retford.

1 South – Thrapston Town thrashed Nuneaton Borough 8-1 aided by Hannah Pendred’s hat-trick, to take top spot from Kettering Town, who had to settle for a 2-2 tie at Newport Pagnell Town. New Bradwell St Peter are fourth after a 2-0 win at Leicester City LFC.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Saltdean defeat Dartford, nearly 5,000 watch Brentford

Premier – Saltdean United downed leaders Dartford by four goals to three, allowing Dulwich Hamlet to halve the gap with a 3-0 result over Sutton United in front of 474 fans. Fulham ran out 15-0 winners at AFC Crawley, Ebbsfleet United had 132 fans in for their 3-0 defeat of Millwall Lionesses, Enfield Town moved closer to escaping the relegation zone with a 2-0 success at Ashford United. Sutton host Dorking Wanderers at Gander Green Lane on Wednesday, with a 7.45pn kick 0ff.

1 North – Sport London E Benfica’s Renata Ferreira bagged a brace for a 3-2 win in front of 237 at Clapton CFC, Brentford are now the only side that can catch them, the Bees hitting Ashmount Leigh 6-1 backed by a crowd of 4,856 at the G-Tech Community Stadium. Actonians Reserves finished with a 2-2 tie at Richmond Park, Camden & Islington United are down after a 4-0 home defeat by Whyteleafe, while Denham United beat Hackney 2-1.

1 South – Bognor Regis Town had Georgina Starkey dismissed during a 2-1 home loss to Welling United, whose substitute Lily Shelford levelled before Amy Panayi’s winner. The Rocks fell into the drop zone as Steyning Town won 5-2 at Hassocks but have several games in hand. Bromley hit six at Eastbourne United, Bexhill United were 4-1 winners away to Dartford Reserves.

NORTH EAST – Spennymoor take top spot from Wallsend 

Premier – Wallsend BC lost the leadership in 3-2 home reverse to Spennymoor Town, whose Katy Hemmingway scored the 87th-minute winner. Barnsley FC are a goal off the top, having beaten Redcar Town 4-1 helped by Jodie Gregory’s hat-trick. Bradford City were held 4-4 by visiting Alnwick Town, Wakefield AFC and Sunderland West End shared six goals. Harrogate Town got out of the drop zone with a 4-1 win over Hull United, Hartlepool United fell into the bottom two when going down 5-2 to South Shields.

1 North – Sunderland U-23s lead the table by five points after a 5-0 defeat of Consett, while Wallsend BC Reserves lost out 4-3 at Chester le Street United for whom Lucy Bowman scored all four. Ponteland United’s Rachel Bell notched a first-half treble as they sunk Hartlepool Pools Youth 7-0 to go second, Thornaby put six pasts hosts Washington.

1 South – Millmoor moved nine points clear as substitute Laura Machin scored in a 2-1 win at Chesterfield FC Women, who are overtaken by York City Devs after they came from two down to draw 2-2 with Altofts. Handsworth climbed to fourth when sending Harworth Colliery to a 10-0 defeat.

NORTH WEST – Mancunian Unity promoted to Premier

Premier – West Didsbury & Chorlton boosted their chances of the runners-up spot by beating Blackburn CSC 2-0 in front of over 100, Tranmere Rovers did likewise with a 4-1 defeat of hosts Darwen. Blackpool gained a rare point in a 1-1 draw with Curzon Ashton but the Seasiders are relegated following Fleetwood Town Wrens’ 2-0 win against Crewe Alexandra. West Didsbury and Fleetwood play on Wednesday at the 1st Step Places Stadium, 7.45pm ko.

1 North – Mancunian Unity are champions with four games to spare, sending Carlisle United to a 17-0 defeat for an 18th win in a row. Penrith won 3-1 at Accrington Stanley to leapfrog them into second position.

1 South – Poulton Vics replaced Chester in second when beating them 1-0 away, FC St. Helens were 5-0 winners at Washington, Hindley versus Ellesmere Port Town ended four apiece.

Alliance Design & Print Cup 2nd Round – Wythenshawe knocked newly-crowned league champions Cheadle Town Stingers out by three goals to nil, Preston North End progressed past Northwich Vixens 2-0.

Alliance Design & Print Plate 1st Round – Morecambe got the only goal of their at home to Altrincham.

SOUTHERN – Bournemouth Sports win title ‘six-pointer’

Premier – The battle for the title is set to go to the wire, after Bournemouth Sports beat Ascot United to go within three points of them and with a game in hand. Oxford City’s Emily Harris scored three times in their 6-2 win at Badshot Lea, Woodley United and Wycombe Wanderers played out a goalless draw.

1 North – Wycombe Wanderers U-23s went second when defeating Milton United 6-1, Shannon Read contributing a hat-trick. Chesham United Devs drew 2-2 with Kidlington, who slip to third. Tuesday sees Milton United meet Eversley & California at Milton Heights.

Chairman’s Cup Semi-Finals – Beaconsfield Town went through 2-0 at Eversley & California, Woking eliminated Long Crendon 3-1, to book their places in the final at Reading City FC on 28 April, 11am kick off.

SOUTH WEST – Marine Academy make Cup semi-finals

Premier – Champions Bristol Rovers beat Liskeard Athletic 3-0, AFC St Austell defeated third-placed Sherborne Town 3-1.

1 North –  Gloucester City’s Bethany Davies got the only goal of the game with Mangotsfield United, St Vallier won 2-0 at Paulton Rovers.

1 West –  Helston Athletic went top with a 5-3 defeat of Sticker, pushing Ilminster down to second but with two games in hand.

Premier League Cup – Marine Academy Plymouth will travel to St Austell in the semi-finals, after a 2-0 victory at Pucklechurch Sports.

Divisional Cup 2nd Round – There were away win for Weston Super Mare (3-2 at Feniton), Ilminster Town (4-1 at Stockwood Wanderers) and AEK Boco whose sub Jodie Hooper netted at Purton to put them through 2-1. Saltash United saw off SGS Olveston United 3-1 as Nicola Champion got a double, Shaftesbury knocked out Downend Flyers 2-0.

WEST MIDLANDS – Shrewsbury first to defeat Worcester

Premier – Shrewsbury Town abruptly ended Worcester City’s unbeaten form with a stunning 4-1 away win. Second-placed Lye Town did not make the most of the surprise result, being held 1-1 at Coventry Sphinx. Shifnal Town took the points 3-1 at Coundon Court, Kidderminster Harriers came through 2-1 on their travels to Solihull Sporting.

1 North – AFC Telford United put away 13 goals at Darlaston Town with trebles for Abi Beady and Olivia Bellamy plus four from Charlotte Budd, Port Vale are still well-placed with games in hand and second after a 4-0 win at Newcastle Town.

1 South – Alvechurch’s 3-2 win at Worcester City Devs put them five points clear, Leamington Lions defeated Droitwich Spa 3-1 to leapfrog them into sixth place.

Division 1 Cup 2nd Round – Walsall Wood’s Rosie Hargreaves scored four of their seven against Lichfield City Reserves, Redditch Borough beat Long Itchington 3-0 as Millie Connolly-Heath struck twice.
