Manchester United Women have confirmed that Leah Galton has suffered ankle ligament damage, sustained in the recent 3-0 derby defeat.
Galton, who has netted six times in 18 appearances across all competitions in 2020/21, had to be substituted early on in the match at Manchester City.
United’s joint-leading scorer this season had only recently signed a new three-year contract and was voted WSL Player of the Month for December 2020.
Manchester United said in a statement that Galton ‘Will spend the next couple of months working closely with the medical team on her rehabilitation.’
