Manchester United made it back-to-back wins in FA Women’s League Cup Group A with a 2-0 victory away to Everton on Wednesday evening.

Hayley Ladd’s 15th-minute corner led to the opening goal, Everton goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan judged to have got the last touch after spilling the ball under pressure.

Ladd later hit the crossbar, while Toni Payne almost got through on goal for the hosts but was penalised for a foul on Millie Turner.

The lead was doubled with 13 minutes to go, when a corner was headed out as far as Maya le Tissier, who volleyed into the top corner.
