Manchester United win Girls’ Premier SuperCupNI

Friday was finals day at SuperCupNI and Manchester United edged Northern Ireland 2-1 in the Premier Girls’ Cup.

Northern Ireland won all their group games in qualifying for the final but it was Group A winners Manchester United who remained unbeaten throughout to clinch the trophy.

The teams who finished second in the Premier groups met in the Globe Final, in which Aston Villa came out on top with a 4-2 victory over Athlone Town.

Surf Select saw off Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 to lift the Premier Vase, Galway United won the Bowl with a 2-1 defeat of USSSA Select.

Surf Select had topped the Junior table ahead of Larne, whom they met in the Cup Final and beat 3-0.

South Belfast Youth League got the only goal of the game against FC America, to take the Junior Globe trophy and stay unbeaten over their four matches.

Linfield ran out 6-1 winners over Crusaders Strikers in the Junior Vase Final.
