Summer transfer window signings
Manchester United Women had a quiet start to the summer transfer window, but have made some very impressive signings.
Their first summer signing was Swedish international Julia Zigotti Olme from Bayern Munich.
United then signed another Swedish player on Friday, in the form of the country’s legendary forward Fridolina Rolfo.
Rolfo, who has scored 40 goals in 131 appearances for her country, was previously expected to join Malmo after she mutually terminated her contract with Barcelona earlier this summer.
United are also in discussions to sign German forward Giovanna Hoffmann from RB Leipzig.
For Liverpool, their summer has seen some big outgoings, including Olivia Smith to Arsenal for a world record £1m fee.
The Merseyside club have signed four players but could do with bringing in a forward to replace their former Canadian superstar – who Wales manager Rhian Wilkinson said could be football’s Caitlin Clark.
So far, Liverpool have signed goalkeeper Rafaela Borggrafe, midfielders Kirsty Maclean and Sam Kerr, and defender Lily Woodham.

Manchester United vs Liverpool team news
Grace Clinton could get her first start of pre-season after helping England win Euro 2025.
She came off the bench to replace Julia Zigotti Olme during the 8-0 win over Real Betis.
The midfielder has been linked with Arsenal, but United will be determined to keep her this summer.
It might to be too soon for Fridolina Rolfo to make a start, though the Swede could make an appearance off the bench.
Liverpool Women have had a tough pre-season, but could keep a largely unchanged side from the one that lost to Durham on Sunday.
Mia Enderby and Gemma Bonner could come in after coming off the bench last time out.

Predicted lineups
Manchester United predicted XI: Tullis-Joyce; Riviere, Le Tissier, Janssen, George; Anderson, Zigotti Olme, Clinton; Bizet, Terland, Malard
Liverpool predicted XI: Borggrafe, Bonner, Woodham, Clark, Silcock; Maclean, Kerr, Holland; Hobinger, Enderby, Kapocs
Manchester United vs Liverpool prediction
It might be a pre-season match but this is a game between two rivals who will both be eager for a victory.
United have had a better pre-season than Liverpool, who lost last time out to tier-two Durham.
There are glaring weaknesses in the Liverpool squad after losing two vital players in Taylor Hinds and Olivia Smith to Arsenal.
United will be able to bring on plenty of attacking talent off the bench, and we predict a 3-0 victory for the Red Devils.
Prediction: Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool
