Manchester United appeared to accidentally leak the signing of Lea Schuller early, before official confirmation of her arrival from Bayern Munich.
Manchester United leak signing of Lea Schuller early
The Red Devils were expected to announce German international Schuller as their second signing of the January transfer window.
However, United fans were surprised to see Schuller appear in a video before the move was made official.
Schuller’s arrival comes after United announced the signing of Hanna Lundkvist on Saturday.
On Monday, United posted a video of an interview with the Swedish right-back.
During the video, Schuller was seen standing alongside Lundkvist inside Old Trafford. Schuller’s appearance was quickly caught by fans on social media.
One X user posted: “Whoops, Why didn’t they just wait?
Another wrote: “at this point they just exposed themselves. They must just spare us the wait and announce already because it is out there already.”
The leak appears to either be an accident by United, or a hint of the signing that was still to come.

Schuller explains decision to join Red Devils
Manchester United eventually gave official confirmation of Schuller’s arrival from Bayern Munich.
They appeared to make light of the leak, writing: “You never saw it coming”.
Speaking to the club’s website, she said: “From the first conversations that I had with Marc and the club, the ambitions of everyone here were very clear. I still have so much that I want to achieve in my career, and I know that Manchester United is the perfect club to join.
“I feel that the team’s style of football will really suit my game and I hope my qualities and experience can help us to achieve our aims both in England and in the Champions League.
Matt Johnson, director of women’s football at United, added: “Lea’s goalscoring record is phenomenal, her style of play will give our attack an exciting new dimension. We are delighted to add a player of her pedigree to the group.
“Lea’s winning mentality and experience will really help our young and ambitious team as we continue to grow together and compete across domestic and European competitions.”

During her seven years at Bayern Munich, she scored more than 100 goals, helping them to win four Bundesliga titles.
Schuller appeared likely to leave Bayern after she left the pitch in tears after Bayern Munich’s last game.
The German international sat out the game with a reported illness, but took to the pitch after the game to greet Bayern Munich’s fans.
Manchester United have also announced that Japanese international Hinata Miyazawa has signed a new contract at the club.
