Two goals in the opening four minutes set Manchester City on the way to a 3-0 win over Fiorentina in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 16 1st leg.

Two minutes in and a Chloe Kelly cross was headed firmly into the far corner of the net by Hemp, who quickly turned provider for Ellen White, who guided the ball high into the goal.

Man City dominated the first half without adding to their score, while a wasted set-piece was all that the visitors had to offer going forward.

The Italian side could well have halved the deficit early in the second half, Lana Clelland playing in Frederikke Thøgersen whose shot went wide of the angle.

It was one of very few chances at either end after the break but City did add a late third goal, Kelly again with the cross and a powerful free header for Sam Mewis.

The second leg is next Thursday afternoon, live on BT Sport 1 with a 1pm kick off.
