Manchester City head coach Andree Jeglertz has delivered a positive injury update ahead of their upcoming fixture with West Ham, confirming that Grace Clinton could feature.
Clinton was unavailable for England during their recent international fixtures with Brazil and Australia.
Manchester City injury update: Grace Clinton and Rebecca Knaak nearing return
Speaking about Grace Clinton and Rebecca Knaak, Andree Jeglertz shared encouraging news about their progress after both players spent time on the sidelines.
“Both Rebecca and Grace have been training fully now for the last week. I expect them to be able to participate in the game or at least being able to be part of the game on Saturday. This was definitely a great week for them to get some more time.”
The update will come as a boost for City fans eager to see Clinton and Knaak back on the pitch.
Their return to full training suggests they could feature in some capacity this weekend, either starting or making an appearance from the bench. After a week of consistent sessions, the pair appear to be regaining rhythm and fitness at the perfect moment in City’s campaign.
Lauren Hemp is making a positive step following her ankle injury
Jeglertz also provided insight into the status of other players who have been working through rehabilitation.
This included Lauren Hemp, who like Clinton, was unavailable for England in their recent international friendlies.
Hemp has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury last month. Jeglertz also provided updates on Lily Murphy, Kerolin and Mary Fowler.
Fowler was recently named Australia’s Young Women’s Footballer of the Year for the third time.
Jeglertz said: “Lauren was part of the session today a little bit and Lily has been part a little bit. Kerolin and Mary are still doing their own stuff.”
While Hemp and Murphy have begun to rejoin parts of team training, their involvement is still being carefully managed as they continue to build back toward full fitness. The gradual reintegration suggests the medical team and coaching staff are taking a cautious but optimistic approach to their recovery.
The head coach praised the commitment of all players involved in recovery programs, acknowledging the effort being put in behind the scenes.
“Everybody is following the plan and hopefully some of them will be back sooner. But they’re definitely working hard to get back as quickly as possible.”
Looking ahead to Saturday
With Clinton and Knaak close to making their return and others steadily improving, Jeglertz’s update gives City fans plenty of reason to be optimistic ahead of Saturday’s match. Having players back in full training adds both experience and energy to the squad at an important stage of the season.
Supporters will be pleased to hear that progress is being made across the board, with the head coach’s words showing that the team’s injury situation is moving in the right direction and that momentum is starting to build again.
