Manchester City head coach Andree Jeglertz has provided a fitness update on Bunny Shaw after the striker limped off during last weekend’s Manchester derby.
The Jamaican international was forced off in the 83rd minute of City’s 3-0 win over Manchester United.
It meant that Shaw, who netted during the emphatic victory, was an injury doubt for this weekend’s League Cup clash against Nottingham Forest.
However, Jeglertz has provided a positive injury update during his pre-match press conference, ahead of the clash at the City Ground.
Andree Jeglertz provides Bunny Shaw fitness boost
Manchester City striker Shaw has been in full training this week ahead of their League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
Jerglertz though will have a decision to make on whether to use Shaw against the WSL 2 side, in their final match before the international break.
He said: “She’s [Bunny] been training fully this week. There haven’t been any issues with her.
“I think every player who was available last week are ready for this game, also. It looks like we have a hungry squad to get a good result in Nottingham this weekend.”
Shaw has been in stunning form this season, scoring six WSL goals, putting her in a strong early position to win her third straight Golden Boot.
The City No.9 is rapidly climbing up the chart when it comes to the WSL’s top scorers of all time.
Bunny Shaw’s 2025-26 stats

Will Lauren Hemp start for Manchester City?
Jeglertz also provided an update on Lauren Hemp who has just returned from her own injury after nearly two months out of action.
Hemp came on for the final 29 minutes against Everton, before playing 45 minutes in the Manchester derby, where she scored a stunning goal against the Red Devils.
Jeglertz said: “We took it slow with Lauren; she played 30 minutes against Everton, then more against United, but she’s still on her way back if that makes sense. [The medical team] are very professional and do it in a very good way. They’ve done a great job.”
The Manchester City head coach will have to decide whether the clash with Nottingham Forest is a good game to give her a run out, or rest her altogether ahead of the international break.
City needs a draw against Nottingham Forest if they are to make the draw for the Women’s League Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
