Man Utd edge through to Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final

Manchester United beat a battling Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 with a late goal to reach the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final. 

Brighton took a surprise lead at Leigh Sports Village, when Veatriki Sarri’s ball into the six-yard box after 36 minutes was palmed into her own goal by Mary Earps.

United were level within a couple of minutes if the second half, with Leah Galton turning home Ona Batlle’s pull-back.

Earps tipped over when Julia Zigiotti let fly and the hosts went ahead inside the last 20 minutes, Alessia Russo firing into the roof of the net from Katie Zelem’s through ball.

Jess Carter beat Millie Turner to the ball to slot home and bring the underdogs back on level terms.

But with just a couple of minutes left, Rachel Williams netted the decider for Manchester United.
