Man City welcome the seven-time German title winners, who have also won the Champions League a record-breaking four times, to the Academy Stadium in preparation for their own European quarter-final ties against Fortuna Hjorring at the end of March.
With a trip to 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam this weekend, Man City say manager Nick Cushing is pleased to be able to test his side against established, top quality opposition in pre-season.
“We have little experience in Europe,” he stated. “If we can prepare in the best way, we have a chance.
“The standard of our opposition [in these friendly games] will challenge the team and give us more experience.
“These games are essential.”
