Lye Town and Sunderland West End go top of Regional League Premiers

Lye Town and Sunderland West End went top of the West Midlands and North East Regional Leagues Premier Divisions respectively.

EASTERN – Densley hat-trick sends Wroxham second

Premier – Wroxham went second as Lara Densley got all their goals in a 3-1 win at Barking. Royston Town took the points with two early goals at St Albans City, substitute Darcy Drewitt struck as Bowers & Pitsea beat Stevenage 2-1, while Kings Lynn Town got off the mark in a goalless basement battle draw with AFC Dunstable.

1 North – Koren Evans came off the bench to score as Newmarket Town defeated previously unbeaten leaders Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers 2-1. Thetford Town beat Histon 2-0 and it finished one apiece between Fakenham Town and Biggleswade United.

1 South – Struggling Grays Athletic went down just 1-0 to leaders Watford Ladies Development, Southend United scored four without reply at Lawford. Daisy Canny’s five-goal haul helped Hutton sink Stanway Pegasus 7-1 and go third in the table. Wormley Rovers won 3-2 at Hertford Town, Cheshunt and Billericay Town Devs shared six goals.

League Cup 2nd Rd – Harpenden Town subs Sophia Amanor and Jaime Curtain both netted in a 3-1 victory at Wodson Park, Real Bedford eliminated Wootton Blue Cross 5-1.

EAST MIDLANDS – Leicester City Ladies launch stunning come back

League Cup 2nd Rd – Thrapston Town’s Amelia Boddington scored four times in the 7-0 midweek beating of Buckingham United. On Sunday, Grimsby Town pipped Lincoln United Devs 6-5 on penalties following a 2-2 deadlock, despite being down to ten for an hour with the dismissal of Eden Pedersen.

League Plate 1st Round – Leicester City LFC came from three down in the latter stages to take Gainsborough Trinity to extra time, in which Eleanor Shaw and fellow sub Rachel Akinyemi both scored. Cardea went through with a 3-1 result away to Newport Pagnell Town.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Herne Bay end Newhaven’s eleven-game winning run

Premier – Beth Hulme hit a hat-trick for Aylesford as they came from 3-1 down to lead the midweek match at Ashford United 4-3, only for the hosts to level in the 88th minute. Saltdean United defeated Aylesford 5-1 on Sunday, when Fulham put four past Crawley to cut Dartford’s lead at the top to two points and Dorking Wanderers won 2-0 at Ashford United.

1 North – Actonians Reserves defeated Denham United in a top-four clash by two goals to one, Whyteleafe went fifth with five goals against Camden & Islington United.

1 South – Herne Bay ended Newhaven’s winning start with a fine 3-1 victory, Bognor Regis Town drew 2-2 with second-placed Dartford Reserves. Welling United sub Lily Shelford scored in a 3-2 defeat of Hastings United, Bexhill United beat Hassocks away by the same score and Montpelier Villa returned from Eastbourne United with a 3-1 win.

NORTH EAST – Wallsend super-sub White strikes twice

Premier – Sunderland West End’s 5-1 win over Harrogate Town sent them top, substitute Jessica White struck twice in two minutes to see Wallsend BC eventually see off Redcar Town 5-3, Barnsley FC’s Madison Foye scored the sole goal of the game at Hartlepool United.

1 North – Wallsend BC Reserves rose to second with a 3-0 defeat of Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves, in which Georgia England got the first two goals. Ponteland United beat Consett by the same score aided by Sophie Curle’s double, Gateshead also beat Thornaby 3-0, with Hartlepool Pools Youth and Bishop Auckland drew 1-1.

1 South – Lower Hopton lost out 3-1 at home to leaders York City Devs, second-placed Millmoor won by the same score at Harworth Colliery. York Railway Institute went one better against Ossett United, Chesterfield FC’s Chloe Foster notched a treble for a 3-2 victory at Handsworth. Altofts overcame Ripon City 11-0 with four from Emily Sharp, Farsley Celtic JFC Ladies sent Sheffield United Foundation to a 7-1 reverse.

NORTH WEST – Cheadle land late double sting

Premier – Cheadle Town Stingers staged a late fightback to beat Bury 2-1 and go three points clear, Jodie Hancock’s 85th-minute leveller added to by sub Isha Mundell deep into added time. Curzon Ashton are third after seeing off Salford City Lionesses 4-1, West Didsbury & Chorlton won 4-0 at Blackpool.

1 North – Only goal-difference now separates the top four, Mancunian Unity just behind leaders Accrington Stanley on goals scored after a 4-0 win at Workington Reds. Penrith are part of that quartet having won 1-0 at third-placed Preston North End, Radcliffe moved within three points of them with a 2-0 result at Carlisle United.

1 South – Wythenshawe’s 4-1 win at Litherland REMYCA sent them six points clear, Chester ran out 4-2 winners at Runcorn Linnets to leapfrog them into second spot. Warrington Wolves are third following a 5-0 win at Hindley, Ellesmere Port Town overtook Mossley Hill Athletic whom they edged 2-1.

SOUTHERN – Four goals and red card for Penn & Tylers’ Hussain 

Premier – Ascot United had Isabel Woods sent off in a 4-1 win for the top team over third-placed Woodley United, whose Gemma Sims also saw red. Bournemouth Sports beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-1, Warminster Town netted three times without reply against Badshot Lea, Eastleigh’s Farrah Thompson got the decider in a 2-1 result at Winchester City Flyers.

1 North – Penn & Tylers Green’s Henna Hussain scored four times in a 22-minute spell but ending up being sent off in the 11-1 thrashing of Caversham United. Wycombe Wanderers U-23s won 4-2 against Abingdon United Devs, Long Crendon beat Milton United 1-0 with a Brooke Burns effort and Chesham United Devs defeated Beaconsfield Town 3-0.

1 South –  AFC Portchester hit Bournemouth Sports Reserves for six to sit a point short of leaders AFC Stoneham. Havant & Waterlooville’s Jodie Burchell got the only goal at Abbey Rangers to send her side third, Woking won 4-2 at Rushmoor.

SOUTH WEST – Three teams pass up chance to go second

Premier – Forest Green Rovers and Sherborne Town drew 2-2 to miss the chance to go second, as did Pucklechurch Sports when held 3-3 at home by Liskeard Athletic.

1 East – Poole Town won 2-0 at Bath City to remain top by six points, Stockwood Wanderers went second as Lauren Phillips got a hat-trick in a 4-2 victory at Ridgeway.

1 North – AEK Boco won 1-0 at Bitton to climb to second, St Valier got off the bottom at the expense of Mangotsfield United where they won 3-0.

1 West – Ilminster Town stretched their lead with a 7-0 win at Sticker where Jodi Cornwall scored four goals, the game between second-placed Feniton and Helston Athletic in third ending 1-1. Saltash United’s Nicola Champion found the net three times in their 8-0 win at Middlezoy.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lye Town lead the league

Premier – Lye Town knocked Worcester City off the top with a 3-0 win over Knowle, Burton Albion drew 3-3 with Coventry Sphinx so had Lauren Swift sent off but Amanda Whalley score twice. Shifnal Town beat Kidderminster Harriers 3-1, Solihull Sporting just got the better of Crusaders 3-2.

1 North – Port Vale sent unbeaten leaders Newcastle Town to a 3-0 defeat, AFC Telford United’s Megan Jones got all three goals at Walsall Wood. Walsall FC won with a single Emily-Jane Golding goal at Lichfield City Reserves, sub Alana Copeland scored as Leek Town Reserves saw off Coventrians 2-1, Coventry City downed Darlaston Town 11-0 as Keleigh Marshall-Welch got four and Sandra Dziedzic three.

1 South – Long Itchington went up two places to the top with a 6-3 victory at Sedgley & Gornal United where the visitors’ Humera Ashfaq hit a hat-trick. Hereford Pegasus had goalscorer Roxana Dinescu red-carded in a 3-3 tie at Redditch Borough whose Katie Potter got a couple, Droitwich Spa held Alvechurch 2-2.  Rugby Town’s Katie Andrews second goal in stoppage-time brought a 3-2 win over 3-2 Worcester City Devs, Bewdley Town beat Redditch United 4-0 and Leamington Lions netted nine against Kingfisher,
