London City Lionesses sign Serbian international Miljana Ivanović from LSK Kvinner on a four-year contract.

The 24-year-old forward, who has over 15 caps for her country, joins after scoring seven goals in twelve Norwegian Toppserien games last season.

Ivanović told londoncitylionesses.com“I’m a fast, explosive player who likes to dribble. I can play in all three forward positions, so hopefully I will entertain the fans this season.

“When London City called, I was really interested in the whole programme. I felt that the club had a lot of belief in me and they wanted me to be part of the project.”

Ivanović, who arrives in London for an undisclosed fee, started her career in the Serbian Women’s Super League with SD Vojvodina, before transfers took her to the Swedish Damllsvenskan (IFK Kalmar) and Norwegian Toppserien (Arna-Bjørnar; LSK Kvinner).

Head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur said: “I can tell from my first interactions with Miljana that she brings lots of positivity and I am very happy that she has joined the team.

“We don’t focus on where the players come from, we focus on how they perform on the pitch. From an experience point of view, it’s good to have players who have performed for their countries and come from other cultures – it brings something very interesting to the mentality of the team.”
