London City Lionesses are fighting to sign Paris Saint-Germain and France star Grace Geyoro before the transfer deadline.
The Lionesses are aiming to make a stunning statement ahead of their debut season in the Women’s Super League.
Numerous reports have suggested that discussions are underway for a player who has previously been linked with Chelsea.
Last week, it was reported that Geyoro was ‘ready to leave’ PSG, and informed them she wanted to leave after spending her entire career in the French capital.
Talks are now underway between the two clubs, with the deal reported to involve one of the biggest fees in the women’s game. Geyoro is under contract until 2028 but is unsettled in Paris and eager for a fresh start.
London City Lionesses look to sign Chelsea target Grace Geyoro
Chelsea have long admired Geyoro and the midfielder has herself shown interest in a move to the reigning WSL champions.
French journalist Achilles Ash reported that the 28-year-old was caught in a tug of war with PSG, as she pushed for a switch to Stamford Bridge.
She reportedly failed to report for training and is said to believe that PSG did not honour commitments made during her 2023 contract extension.
However, new reports suggest that the London City Lionesses look likely to sign Geyoro.
Women’s Super League clubs have until 11pm on September 4th to act before the transfer window closes. While the Blues prepare to open their season against Manchester City, the London City Lionesses are working quickly to finalise an agreement of their own.

Reunion with Jocelyn Precheur
One of the major attractions for Geyoro at London City is the chance to reunite with coach Jocelyn Precheur.
The French manager knows her well and is preparing his squad for its first taste of top flight English football.
For Geyoro, the opportunity to work with a trusted coach could be decisive as she weighs her options.
Grace Geyoro’s career with PSG
Geyoro made her PSG debut in 2014 as a teenager and established herself as a regular starter by 2016.
She has since scored 53 goals in 270 appearances across all competitions. Her honours include a league title in 2021 and three Coupe de France trophies. Twice she has reached the Champions League final with PSG only to finish as a runner-up.
On the international stage she has won more than 100 caps for France and featured at Euro 2025 in Switzerland where she scored twice. Her experience at the highest level would be a huge boost for any WSL side.
The past year has not been easy for Geyoro. She clashed with PSG coach Fabrice Abriel and admitted that the strained relationship affected her mental health.
She has also skipped training this summer citing a confidential medical reason. Despite being under contract long-term, she is now determined to move abroad and follow the example of former teammate Sandy Baltimore who has thrived at Chelsea.
What it means for London City Lionesses
If the Lionesses manage to complete this signing, it would be a remarkable coup for a club entering its first WSL campaign.
Adding a player with Geyoro’s quality and pedigree would underline their ambition to challenge established powers immediately.
The London City Lionesses start their season against Arsenal on Saturday, September 6th.
