Everton Take Liverpool To Extra-Time
Liverpool took an early lead against Everton but ended up being taken to extra-time by the WSL 2 team before eventually emerging 2-1 winners.
Tash Harding puts the Reds ahead in the 8th minute, converting Caroline Weir’s cross at the near post.
Ali Johnson was close to getting a second but Kirstie Levell tipped her curling shot wide.
There were chances at both ends 10 minutes into the second half, as Liverpool’s Kate Longhurst saw her header cleared off the line and Siobhan Chamberlain denied Claudia Walker at point blank range, tipping the ball over the crossbar.
Everton equalised on 69 minutes when Simone Magill was in the right place to guide the ball home from close range.
Katie Zelem nearly avoided the need for the extra half-hour but her strike from distance hit the Toffees’ post.
In the second period of extra-time, Magill also hit the woodwork and moments later,
Shanice van der Sanden headed the winner from Johnson’s cross.
Bronze Breaks Royals’ Resistance
Reading held out until 7 minutes from time at Manchester City, when Lucy Bronze broke the deadlock from just outside the box.
The Royals had had Mary Earps to thank for not conceding earlier, making a string of impressive saves before denying Georgia Stanway from the spot in the 65th minute, after Bronze was tripped by Mandy Van Den Berg.
Nikita Parris was also denied by another good save from Earps and Kosovare Asllani’s goal-bound shot was blocked on the line by Harriet Scott.
Carli Lloyd played in Jane Ross who was unable to beat the Royals’ keeper but 2 minutes later Melissa Lawley’s free kick was cleared to the edge of the area and Bronze volleyed home.

Arsenal Put Ten Past Tottenam
Arsenal made sure their was no suprise in the North London derby, knocking in five goals by half time against their local rivals from two divisions below, whose 27-game unbeaten run was ubruptly ended.
Although it was 22 minutes before Danielle Carter got the opener off a Jordan Nobbs through ball, Dominique Janssen flicked home a cross from Heather OReilly before Carter got her second on the half hour.
Kim Little charged through on goal to make it 4-0 and Danielle van de Donk turned in the fifth from close range.
Van de Donk also got number six just before the hour off a Carter back heel, Chloe Kelly, Beth Mead and Katie McCabe added one each and Van de Donk completed her hat-trick for the cup holders when taking the score into double-figures.
Birmingham Win Midlands Derby
Premier League West Brom were close to holding Birmingham to a goalless first half but City upped the pressure to go in 1-0 up.
Albion might have scored first but Abi Cottam’s free kick was pushed onto the post by keeper Ann-Katrin Berger.
At the other end on 41 minutes, Bec Thomas turned Paige Williams 25-yard strike against the bar but shortly afterwards Williams’ free kick which was headed home by Jess Carter.
Williams was involved again as she nodded the ball on for Ellen White to head in the second goal on the hour mark..
White set up Ellie Brazil but the substitute hit the bar from close range and Thomas again kept out a set piece from Williams.

Chelsea In Tune Against Belles
Chelsea were another side to enjoy a decisive first-half peformance, running in five goals against Doncaster.
The Blues were ahead on 12 minutes when Nicky Davies denied Maren Mjelde only for Crystal Dunn to fire the rebound home.
Ji So-Yun then struck twice, first after Davies brilliantly kept out an effort from Dunn, who then played in the South Korean to net again.
A Ramona Bachmann cross was turned past her own keeper by the unfortunate Leandra Little, afterwhich the Swiss international scored herself via a Karen Carney cross.
After Ji was denied a hat-trick by a goal-line clearance, the resulting corner saw Carney clip the ball to the back post for Katie Chapman to power home a header. And then, within moments of Erin Cuthbert and Drew Spence taking to the field, the latter had scored with a tidy low finish after being teed up by the young Scot.
Notts County Survive Yeovil Fightback
Top-flight newcomers Yeovil went down by the odd goal in five away at Notts County.
The Lady Pies were 1-0 up after 26 minutes, Danielle Buet’s free-kick having been tipped over for a corner by Charlie Haynes and Rachel Williams header from the flag-kick dropping for Jade Moore to poke home.
Yeovil’s keeper hobbled off injured on 53 minutes and Notts took immediate advantage, Kirsty Linnett curling her effort past replacement Charlotte Johnson.
The deficit was halved in the final 10 minutes with a Lucy Quinn penalty but a free-kick from Buet deflected off two Glovers’ players to make it 3-1.
The Somerset side hit back again with Kelly Snook netting from just outside the 18 yard box.
Vixens Victorious Over Lionesses
Three first half goals put Bristol City in control at home to Millwall, as they went on to post a 5-0 winning margin.
Millie Turner got a debut goal just 6 minutes in, meeting a cross from Claire Emslie and it was 2-0 after 17 minutes, Lauren Hemp driving into the bottom corner.
Turner doubled her tally with a powerful header into the back of the net from an Olivia Fergusson cross.
Into the last quarter of the game and Hemp found the net a second time as her cross sailed into the top corner.
Jodie Brett rounded off the scoring, following up an Emslie strike from outside the box.
Sunderland See Off Villa
Sunderland were pegged back twice by Aston Villa before running out 3-2 winners in Melanie Reay’s first game in charge.
Stephanie Roche hit the post for the hosts before Laura Stancliffe’s powerful free-kick was spilled by Villa keeper Chloe Beattie and Vicky Williams tapped in.
The visitors were quickly level though, as Alice Hassall’s cross to the back post found Tasha Baptiste who headed home.
Hayley Sharp headed in from a Bev Leon cross to restore the lead and they might have had a third by the interval but Abby Holmes’ effort was saved when one-on-one with Beattie.
Villa equalised 4 minutes after the restart thanks to Lucy Shepherd, who latched onto a through ball and finished well.
The Black Cats went ahead for the third time on 66 minutes, Stancliffe converting a penalty given for handball.
Villa piled on the pressure late on and Kerri Welsh went closest, her header crashing against the crossbar.
The draw for the SSE Women’s FA Cup quarter finals will take place at approximately 11.40am on Monday 20th March.
