Liverpool vs Manchester United preview
The beginning of this season has been an absolute disaster for Liverpool. After losing in the Merseyside derby on opening weekend, Gareth Taylor’s team suffered another shock defeat to Leicester – despite their opponents having a player sent off.
Liverpool’s third game of the season was postponed after the tragic loss of former manager Matt Beard.
The Reds did enjoy a successful start to their League Cup campaign however, with a resounding 5-0 win over Sunderland in the week.
On an emotional night Liverpool looked back at their very best on Wednesday and they will be hoping to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game.
In contrast, Manchester United couldn’t have kicked off their campaign in much better form.

The Red Devils remain unbeaten in the WSL and a goalless draw against Arsenal last weekend was a very positive result for the title contenders. There was a record crowd in attendance at Leigh Sports Village for the Arsenal game.
United are currently second in the WSL behind only Chelsea. If Marc Skinner’s team is going to stand any chance of challenging the Blues this season then it is crucial they pick up all three points against teams like Liverpool lower down the league.
Liverpool vs Manchester United Team news
With no game last weekend, Liverpool could field a very similar XI to the one that lost to Leicester on matchday 2.
The Reds still started a strong lineup against Sunderland but they have no new injury concerns after the cup clash.
Sofie Lundgaard returned to the pitch in the League Cup after almost a year of recovery from an ACL injury and should feature off the bench.
