FAWPL Northern Division 1 side Liverpool Feds have landed Shannon Beckwith – a player with UWCL experience – despite her having a few tier two clubs’ offers on the table.
Beckwith had played for Liverpool Ladies since the age of 15 and she worked her way up to the first team in WSL 1, as well as featuring in the Champions League.
She commented on signing up: “I’m very lucky to have found a local team with such high aspirations and a great team spirit.
“After losing faith in managers and falling out of love with the game last year, I am extremely grateful that Fran [Alonso] has given me the opportunity to put my boots back on again.”
Manager Fran Alonso is very pleased with his latest acquisition: “To be able to attract players of Shannon’s quality and experience is fantastic for Feds.
“Shannon brings quality, pace, strength and experience and she is also a versatile player with a great work ethic and fighting spirit, that is the type of players we want to add to our Feds’ squad.”
