England beat Northern Ireland 5-0 to move within a point of qualifying for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

But it was the end of Irish hopes of reaching the finals in Australia and New Zealand, despite the backing of a sell-out crowd of over 15,000 at Windsor Park.

Lauren Hemp opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a sliced shot, Ella Toone doubling the lead soon after the interval from Lucy Bronze’s cross.

Mary Earps saved to prevent Lauren Wade pulling a goal back, before Leah Williamson’s pass fell for Hemp who rounded keeper Jackie Burns to net her second.

Georgia Stanway then added a brace of her own in the last 20 minutes.
