A Georgia Stanway rocket gave England the lead in the friendly against Norway but the Lionesses again lost a lead and went down 2-1.
Inside 10 minutes England were in front, Nikita Parris laying the ball off and Georgia Stanway with a superb first-time strike from 25 yards that crashed into the net off the underside of the crossbar.
Chelsea’s Guro Reiten curled an effort close to Carly Telford’s post and the England keeper had to tip away a Caroline Graham Hansen cross-shot.
Jodie Taylor could not quite get a shot away when put through just outside the six-yard box to double the Lionesses lead before half-time.
The hosts were level less than 10 minutes into the second period, Telford turned a Karina Saevik shot round the post but the resulting corner saw Frida Maanum glance home a near-post header.
Moments later Lucy Bronze went close to restoring the lead with a header, Taylor also nodded wide from Toni Duggan’s cross.
Retiring Norway keeper Ingrid Hjelmeseth was substituted on 85 minutes, ending a lengthy international career totalling 138 caps.
It turned out to be a winning departure for the veteran, as a mistake by Millie bright led to Graham Hansen firing home from a narrow angle.
