Seven Up For Linfield

Leaders Linfield made it four wins from four in the Danske Bank Premiership with a 7-0 success at Cliftonville.

Megan Bell got the first two goals, with Leontia McVarnock and Debbie McCarthy adding two more before the break.

Second half saw a deft flick at the front post from McVarnock and not to be outdone, the tireless Kirsty McGuinness grabbed two more.

The game also saw 15 yr old Linfield’s Zoe Kilpatrick make her first senior start in the league, while Naomi Donnan and Mollie Moore made their club debuts.

Newry Net Five

Second-placed Newry City bagged a third victory in a 5-1 scoreline at Ballymena.

Aimee Macken struck first in the 7th minute, Rayza de Susa then scoring either side of an Elineze Belem shot.

Alison Smith replied after the break with the goal of the match, a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner, before Amanda Gomes Dias looped in City’s fifth on 63 minutes.

Glens Go Third

Glentoran’s 3-2 defeat of Crusaders has lifted them up to third spot.

Nadene Caldwell volleyed the hosts ahead 4 minutes before the break but the Strikers levelled 6 minutes into the second half through Emily Wilson.

Rachel Rogan had Glentoran back in front soon afterwards but they had to wait until Kelly Baillie’s late penalty to make sure of the points.
