Lewes Land Premier League Plate

Sunday 23rd April
FA PREMIER LEAGUE PLATE FINAL
Huddersfield Town 0-4 Lewes

The Sussex side were one up after just 6 minutes, Katie McIntyre crossing after her corner came back to her following Rebecca Carter’s flick onto the upright, Georgia Bridges then rising to head home.

Huddersfield should have levelled after Charley Evans broke clear and set up Emily Heckler who was blocked out, with keeper Lauren Dolbear then failing to clear and Hannah Spreckley missing the target.

Lewes doubled their lead shortly before the hour mark, when Dani Lane was first to a loose ball in the box and scored with keeper Laura Carter stranded.

Heckler threatened to get the Terriers back in the match but Tammy Waine put her body on the line to thwart the move.

Into the last dozen minutes and victory was effectively assured as Rachel Palmer curled the ball to the back post and Bridges was there first to finish from 6 yards.

The favour was returned in a fashion, as Bridges won a free-kick which Palmer struck high into the Huddersfield net.
