Lewes FC Women have signed 20-year-old Northern Ireland international defender Rebecca McKenna from Linfield.

McKenna, who is primarily a right back but can also play in midfield, helped her country beat Ukraine in a Euro 2022 qualification play-off in April.

She won four straight league titles in a four-year spell with Linfield, and also previously played for Glentoran.

Manager Simon Parker lewesfc.com: “Rebecca is a player we’ve been watching a lot. She is tenacious with a raw talent we think we can help develop. She’s extremely versatile, young but with a strong character. She is going to be fantastic this year and has huge potential to make a big impact in the league.”
